BEAUTY ADVICE: ON-THE-GO HOLIDAY BEAUTY
December is one long month of hustle and bustle. From work to holiday shopping to parties, sometimes it feels like we're constantly on the go. And, of course, we all want to look our best amidst the chaos. One beauty and style dilemma that remains high on the list of priorities is what to do when you're going from work or school straight to a holiday cocktail soirée. Often there's little to no time to go home, shower, change, and primp, which is enough to give even the most confident beauty lovers anxiety. Here are my favorite ways to ensure that I look my best upon arrival at a holiday party, even in a time crunch:

- Bring a travel-sized bottle of dry shampoo with you so that you can touch up your hair right before you head out to the party. This will work well for hair that’s being left down or being worked into an up-do because it will get rid of excess grease and provide extra texture.
- Apply your face makeup products before heading to school or work. For long-lasting coverage, use a primer or makeup setting spray. Keep the eye makeup light and simple during the day so that you can build it up before the party. I like to bring blotting papers with me to get rid of oil and shine throughout the day—it’s so much better than having to use five papers at once when you’re trying to touch up your makeup.
- Put your outfit on a hanger along with the bag you plan to wear. Hang it up in your car or on the back of a door so that the clothes don’t get wrinkled.
- If you're wearing tights with your dress or skirt for the party, DON'T wear those tights to work. You may think that you're saving time, but if by chance a run tears down your leg you'll be in a very tight spot come party time. Place your tights in a plastic bag and check for runs before you leave for the day.
- Go to a beauty department and ask for samples of your favorite perfume. That way, you can still wear perfume in the morning and then spritz yourself right before going to the party without having to lug around your full bottle.

The color, scent, and vitamin properties of the rose make it ideal for use in beauty products and pampering routines. Roses' beauty and utility has been well-known for centuries and centuries. In ancient times, alchemists used roses "for purgatives, astringents, and tonics, to treat chronic lung diseases," and more.¹ Today, roses continue to be admired for their timeless beauty, fragrance, and symbolism.
Here is a breakdown of the anatomy of a rose and the many uses of its parts:
- Rosebuds are particularly high in vitamin C and astringent tannins.
- Rose extract is used in many fragrances, cosmetics, and skin conditioners.
- Rose oil is common in perfumes, toilet waters and ointments.
- Rose water is "used as a perfume in emollients, eye lotions, and freckle lotions." Rose water is an amazing skin refresher and can help reduce signs of aging and wrinkles.

DIY Skincare: Smoothie Mask

Whenever I'm traveling, I try to pick up new beauty tips and tricks from the unique places I visit. For example, I learned about today's DIY skincare recipe while visiting Thailand!
I love how easy this smoothie mask is to make, and the way it naturally brightens your skin's complexion.
To make this mask, you'll need two simple ingredients:̢̢۬۬
1 papaya
1/2 fresh pineapple
̢̢۬۬Instructions:
Cut up both fruits into small pieces and toss everything into a juicer (like you're making a smoothie!). Once that's finished blending, use a cotton pad to soak up the mixture and apply it on your face and neck.
Leave the juice on your skin for 10 minutes and then rinse it off. The acid from the fruits will help turn over and brighten your skin's complexion.
This concoction is also very healthy to drink (just don't drink the mask after you wore it; make a new batch!).

How Would You Wear Glow In The Dark Makeup?
Hi everyone,
Last month, Make Up For Ever introduced a line of glow-in-the-dark makeup that looks so fun to try and really easy to work with. Fluo Night (available at Sephora) is a fluorescent powder that glows in the dark under UV light. It comes in seven colors, plus an “invisible” white color:
To use, all you have to do is blend the powder into your regular makeup. It's powder format means you can put it anywhere, really; patting it into your lipstick, mixing it into your eyeshadow powder, and applying it to the tips of your hair are just few fun ideas!
Applying the makeup isn’t the tricky part; finding the UV light that activates it is! Laser tag, anyone? ;)

My interest was mainly sparked because last year there was that hugely over-the-top 'scandal' when the same Miu Miu dress made a number of magazine covers - will this be a similar situation? I wouldn't be surprised if this dress lands even more covers. And then there is the small (and really rather insignificant) fact that both Amanda and Abbie have dated Ryan Phillippe. If Reese Witherspoon wears it too it will be quite the hattrick. Eva Mendes (who has no Ryan connection) has also worn this number. See, it's already getting quite confusing....

Abis saking hebohnya Bruno Mars atau yang bernama asli Peter Gene Hernandez ini bener-bener 'melambung' pas dia meluncurkan album debutnya yang berjudul "Doo-Woops & Hooligans" .Lahir pada tanggal 8 Oktober, 1985.Dia udah pernah kolaborsi sama B.O.B dan Travie McCoy di lagu Billionare.Oya, selain itu dia juga nulis lagu Buat Cee Lo Green yang berjudul "f*ck you!", FloRida dan Ke$ha yang berjudul "Right Round" dan lagu fenomenal nya K'naan yang berjudul "wavin flag".
Kabarnya sih, konsernya Bruno Mars ini bakal diselenggarakan tanggal 5 April 2011. JAdi harap bersabar yaaa... Trus bakal dijual 4 ribu. The True Hipnotist facts
Jadi,Hipnotis (Inggris: hypnosis) adalah teknik atau praktik dalam mempengaruhi orang lain secara sengaja untuk masuk ke dalam kondisi yang menyerupai tidur, di mana seseorang yang terhipnotis bisa menjawab pertanyaan yang diajukan, serta menerima sugesti dengan tanpa perlawanan. Teknik ini sering dilakukan untuk menjelajahi alam bawah sadar.

Hipnotis adalah keadaan dimana proses hipnosis dilakukan, dimana seseorang membuat atau menyebabkan seseorang berada dalam keadaan hipnosis. Orang yang terhipnotis dipercaya berada dalam keadaan mental dimana perhatiannya menjadi terfokus, terkonsentrasi, dan pikirannya lebih mudah menerima permintaan atau sugesti.

Istilah hipnotisme (hipnotis) dan hipnosis pertama kali diperkenalkan oleh James Braid, seorang dokter bedah asal Skotlandia pada tahun 1841-1842 yang merupakan singkatan dari "syaraf tidur" ("neuro-hypnotism"). Praktik hipnosis oleh James Braid pada awalnya berdasarkan teknik yang dikembangkan oleh Franz Anton Mesmer dan pengikutnya yaitu aliran "Mesmerisme" atau "magnet hewani", namun teorinya berbeda dalam penerapan prosedurnya. Pengamatannya tentang hipnosis mulanya berawal dari penemuan komite Perancis, yang dilanjutkan dengan pengenalan buku Elements of the Philosophy of the Human Mind (Elemen-elemen Filosofis Pikiran Manusia) (1827) oleh Dugald Stewart, seorang filsuf berpengaruh dari "Scottish School of Common Sense" (Sekolah Skotlandia Untuk Pikiran yang Berakal). Filsuf ini mendorong para dokter untuk melestarikan komponen-komponen dari Mesmerisme dengan menggantikannya menggunakan interpretasi baru menggunakan "akal sehat" berdasarkan hukum fisiologi dan psikologis.

James Braid mendeskripsikan istilah hipnotis, atau tidurnya syaraf, sebagai kondisi di saat sistem syaraf dihentakkan dengan pikiran buatan. Proses ini membuat hipnotis berbeda dengan kondisi tertidur atau tersadar (bangun) pada umumnya.

Praktik-praktik hipnotis pada awalnya dikenal sebagai teknik meditasi dari Timur (oriental). Praktik-praktik hipnotis yang dilakukan kini memiliki kesamaan dengan berbagai bentuk meditasi yoga oleh agama Hindu dan praktik-praktik spiritual kuno, seperti yang dideskripsikan oleh tulisan Persia kuno tentang berbagai macam ritual agama dan ritual penyembuhan yang dilakukan di Timur.

Dalam tulisannya di "Kekuatan Pikiran diatas Kekuatan Jasmani", walaupun James Braid menentang dalil-dalil kepercayaan pada fenomena ini, namun tulisannya menunjukkan bahwa meditasi dari Timur menghasilkan efek-efek hipotisme dalam kesendirian, tanpa hadirnya seseorang yang menghipnotis, sehingga ia melihatnya sebagai bukti bahwa hipnotisme terdapat dalam praktik-praktik kuno meditasi dan bukan dari teori-teori moderen maupun praktik aliran mesmerisme.

Walaupun secara umum efek-efek dari hipnosis diakui, namun banyak perbedaan pendapat antara kalangan ilmuan dan klinis tentang bagaimana hipnosis bekerja. Psikologis E.M Thorton (1976) memperluas analogi tentang hubungan antara hipnosis, aliran mesmerisme, dan sihir. Ia menekankan bahwa subyek yang dihipnotis pada dasarnya diminta untuk "menuju kondisi seperti pasien epilepsi ditirukan seperti sebuah parodi". Apabila subyek terlihat seperti kerasukan, maka hal ini diakibatkan karena kondisi kerasukan melibatkan konteks yang mirip secara sosio-kognitif, layaknya seseorang yang menerima peran yang diberikan kepadanya dan merasakan hubungan antara yang meminta dan diminta.
Bagaimanapun hipnosis dilakukan, pada dasarnya hipnotisme, aliran mesmerisme, histeria, dan kerasukan setan memiliki dasar yang sama dimana konstruksi sosial di rancang oleh pelaku terapi yang antusias akan hal ini, pelaku pertunjukan (showmen), dan pendeta-pendeta atau pelaku ritual agama pada satu sisi - dan disisi lain ada orang-orang yang mudah percaya, penuh imajinasi, penuh kesediaan, diikuti dengan kebutuhan emosional yang tinggi akan kemampuan orang lain untuknya. sekarang udah tau kan sejarah dan segala macemnya hipnotiiis? hehe
